MY MUSIC

Musically Ive been writing songs since the early eighties. Ive always loved music and was fascinated by others who could write songs. I bought a second hand guitar in 1980 and started to learn the basics, once I got the hang of the chords I found that I could in fact write my own material The album contains a few of those songs, songs that for a long period in my life were stored in a box up in the attic, silently gathering dust. I do tend to remember songs though, to me they are like people, every one is different.

When I was 50 I bought myself a really good keyboard and immediatley that gave me a new dimension for song writing. Sometimes I dont go and play because thats when the music comes through and I know already I have enough material for at least another two albums, so Im just trying to keep my head clear!

So whats the aim of all this? First I want to get my music "out there" where I hope it will be enjoyed. Second I want to explain why the album was done, in other words the story about cancer and the natural cure that got me through it, which to me is more important than anything.

Third, Im 53 and to me age is no barrier, so I want to break the mould. I still feel like Im 18 so why not do this? Many say music is for the young people but to me music is for everyone, and it doesnt matter who you are, where you are or how old you are. Fourth, to be able to do it independantly. To put together a whole album, plus videos, websites, photo shoots and subsequent promotion without the aid of any major backer or record company to me is very satisying. The 3 of us (Kehinde, Sesha and myself) have put the whole thing together without any commercial backing.

MY LIFE

I live as youve guessed by now in North East Melbourne Australia, in the Shire of Nillumbik. My wife Louise and my sons Dan and Nick moved with me from London in 2002 and all love living here. Australia is a beautifal place and the weather is great, well most of the time anyway! My parents tried emigrating 3 times, (why 3 times?, Dad loved it and Mum hated it!).

On their last try I was with them, I went back to the UK when I was 7 and still remember it it was a shock to the system then. I grew up in West London in Hounslow and came back here when I was 23. I spent 3 years travelling around. I have been lucky enough to see many wonderful sites here, including the Great Barrier Reef, the tropical rainforests, the red centre, the alpine regions, the deserts and so on. I have been in every state and outside that I worked out Ive visited now 65 countries in my life, so I consider myself very lucky to have travelled so much.

Apart from travelling and song writing I enjoy gardening and model railways. I love to play soccer and even at an age where many have hung up their boots Im proud that I still play central midfield for our team, and pleased that weve have won the veterans (over 45) championship these past three years. I just joined a gym and that together with swimming and rebounding on a mini-trampoline keeps me fit and keeps away the middle age spread!  I actually lost 16 kilos in 6 months on my no-fat eating programme organised by my natural doctor so I dont have any fat on my body, overall I fell so healthy and have heaps of energy!

MY HOPES FOR THE ALBUM

Kehinde and myself wrote a song for the Australian Bushfire victims last year, which was made as a free download. That song was played by around 130 community radio stations in every state across Australia. (To hear that song; "Surviving as One" click on www.oztogether.com ). I hope that with hard work and good promotions we can get "Better Late Than Never" air played on as many stations as possible, not just here but all over the world as well. The music is easy listening / middle of the road so it does appeal to people in general, so Im hoping it will be received well. It is crucial we get good air play and exposure this year to give the album the best chance of success. All I ask is;-, if you like it, please kindly buy it and tell your friends about it as well. (Hope is out on I-Tunes on the 14th of February2010), and most importantly, pass on the information about natural living!

Please do wish us luck with this new adventure, thank you so much!
